Sunidhi Chauhan concert slated for Sunday

All roads lead to the National Stadium on Sunday April 3rd when the sensational Sunidhi Chauhan and troupe will take to the stage for what promises to be an entertainment spectacular. The Concert, which is being presented by the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha in collaboration with ZEETV, starts at 7pm with gates opening at 5pm. Patrons are urged to get their tickets early as they would not want to miss a minute of this action packed mega concert.

 

Sunidhi Chauhan is one of Bollywood’s favourite playback singers who has had numerous blockbuster hits during her career. Singing for 20 years in the film industry since her debut at age 13 with the film Shastra (1996),  Sunidhi is known for her superhit songs like Desi Girl, Ishq Sufiyaana, Aaja Nachle, Sheila ki Jawani, Kamli, Dilliwali Girlfriend, Kachi Kaliyaan, Thaare Vaste, Aayo re aayo re, Dhoom Machale, Yeh Mera Dil and many many others, Sunidhi has also been nominated for and won several awards including the prestigious Indian International Film Awards, ZEE Cine Awards, Filmfare Awards, Global Indian Music Awards, Star Screen Awards and Mirchi Awards. She has 14 Filmfare Award nominations to her credit. Sunidhi has a number of international collaborations including the huge hit “Heartbeat” with Enrique Iglesias.

Sunidhi is a dynamite performer and there is no doubt that Guyanese will be in for a spectacular treat on April 3rd. Sunidhi last performed in Guyana as a child at the Amitabh Bachchan concert in the early 90s and was outstanding with her Lata Mangeshkar renditions. The Sabha has previously hosted mega concerts featuring Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan which were enjoyed not only for the high standard of performances but also the excellent physical arrangements and the family atmosphere created at the Stadium.

Accompanying Sunidhi will be Indian Idol Season 5 finalist Rakesh Maini. Rakesh has toured extensively with Sunidhi and excels at both the current hits and the favourties of yesteryear. Indeed both Sunidhi and Rakesh will be presenting new and old selections at the concert. They will be supported by backup singers, musicians, lighting and sound engineers out of India. Dharmic Sabha’s Nritya Sangh will also be performing.

Sunidhi’s concert is being held by the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha as a fundraiser for the construction of its new Dharmic Rama Krishna Secondary School and expanded Primary School at Pattensen, East Coast Demerara and towards the operational costs of Bal Nivas, the Sabha’s Shelter in Ankerville, Berbice for Children who are victims of abuse. The Sabha looks forward for the usual support from Guyanese for this Concert which is in aid of two very worthy causes.
