Jamaican arrested following discovery of compressed cocaine

 

A Jamaican national is in Police Custody assisting with investigations, following the discovery one kilogram of cocaine, compressed in the form of shoe soles.

 

According to a police report, yesterday Saturday April 02, 2016, ranks of the Police Narcotics Unit conducted a search on a house at Friendship Squatting Area, East Bank Demerara and made the discovery.

 

 

 52 year old loses life on La Jalousie Public Road

 

Mohendra Bisnauth, 52 years of La Jalousie, West Coast Demerara lost his life last night Saturday, April 2 after being struck by a motor vehicle while attempting to cross the La Jalousie Public Road.

 

Investigations have revealed that the accident occurred around 21:30hrs.

 

He was pronounced dead on arrival at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.

 

The driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.

 

 

Shooting at Wismar, Linden leaves two hospitalized

 

Investigations are also being conducted into an incident that occurred about 01:45hrs today Sunday April 03, 2016, at Half Mile, Wismar, in which Simone Belle, 41 years, of Half Mile, Wismar, and Sherwin Hughes, 41 years, of Blueberry Hill, Wismar, were shot and injured.

 

The two persons have been admitted to hospital.

 

Police say investigations so far have revealed that Simone Belle had just arrived home in a vehicle driven by Sherwin Hughes, when shots were discharged at them in the vehicle by a man who is reported to have shared a relationship with Belle, which allegedly ended several months ago.

 

The suspect is yet to be arrested.
