MAN SHOT TWICE AFTER BREAKING INTO MARKET STALL

Hospitalised is 24 year old Damon Booker, who was shot this morning around 2:30hrs by city constables who responded to a report that a man had broken into a stall in the Market.

When the constables arrived on the scene, the man reportedly attacked them with a ‘rambo’ knife causing one of the constables to use force to bring him under control.

According to information News Room received, the injured man hails from the South Ruimveldt Squatting area.

Police sources said after the man was shot and the constables searched the area to ensure that he did not have any accomplices, they stumbled on a bag filled with cell phones and laptops which Booker had already removed from the stall.

The police were subsequently called in and the man was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he is receiving medical attention under police guard.

The investigations are ongoing.
