Robbery suspects arrested at Rose Hall; unlicensed .32 revolver & 6 rounds discovered

Police are reporting that around 08:30hrs yesterday Monday 09, 2016,  money changer Kumar Sookraj, 22 years old, and his brother Parsram Sookraj 17 years old, of Rose Hall, Corentyne, were on the roadway at Rose Hall when they were held up at gunpoint and robbed of a sum of foreign and local currency by a man who escaped.
 
The police responded to the report and information received led to the subsequent arrest of the suspect in a house at Rose Hall. An unlicensed .32 revolver along with 6 rounds were found in his possession.
 
Further inquires led to the arrest of an accomplice.
 
Both men are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
 
The suspect who had carried out the robbery has been identified as one of three men who had committed an armed robbery on a poultry farmer also of Rose Hall on April 30, 2016, during which Samuel Fernandes was shot and injured.
