The Guyana Police Force is conducting investigations into two fatal accidents one which occurred yesterday Friday June 3, 2016 on the Amelia’s Ward Public Road, Linden and the other today, Saturday June 4, 2016 on the Goed Fortuin Public Road, WBD.
Around 23:46 hrs yesterday on the Amelia’s Ward Public Road, Linden, Michael Fox, 22 years, of Cinderella City, Amelia’s Ward lost his life.
Investigations so far have revealed that the deceased, who was riding an unregistered motor cycle (CBR) slammed into the right side rear of motor vehicle PTT 2372 and fell.
Michael Fox was rushed to the Linden Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigation.
Meanwhile, investigations are also being conducted into yet another fatal accident which occurred on Goed Fortuin Public Road, WBD, at about 04:05 hrs today that resulted in the death of Shawn Patrick 21 years, of David Rose Street, Bagotville, WBD.
It is reported that the deceased who was riding motor cycle CH 8338 proceeding south at a fast rate, overtook a motor car on a turn, hit the left side front of motor lorry GJJ 5817 which was facing south and then slammed into a light pole.
He was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was also pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver of the motor lorry is in police custody assisting with the investigation.
