The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has expressed deep shock and horror over last Sunday’s massacre at the Pulse night club in Orlando Florida.

Forty-nine people were killed and 53 injured during the gunman’s shooting rampage, described by officials as the worst mass shooting in American history.

Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque in a message on behalf of the Community stressed that there was no justification, whether on grounds of race, religion or lifestyle for the slaughter of defenceless people.

He said CARICOM stands with the Government and People of the United States as they mourn the victims of the heinous attack.
