The police in ‘D’ Division are investigating a shooting that occurred today during a robbery at 01:00hr committed on 36- year- old Shamiran Tebonie of Dudley Park, Canal No. 1 Polder, West Bank Demerara.
According to reports, Shamiran Tebonie was awoken by two armed male suspects who demanded cash and jewellery.The man was shot to his right hand in the process and the suspects escaped with an undisclosed sum of cash and jewellery that were handed over to them.
The injured man was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was treated and sent away.
Investigations are ongoing.
