GFSCA sending two teams to NYSCL International softball competition

The Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) is sending two teams to New York to compete in the New York Softball Cricket League (NYSCL) International softball tournament to be held this weekend (July 1-3).

 

The two teams are Floodlights and Floodlights Legends. They will participate in the Masters category, called the Legends Cup. Floodlights won the Legends Cup in July 2015 when they defeated local counterpart Regal Masters in a thrilling final played at Roy Wilkinson Park in Queens.

 

New York Mercenaries were the champions in the Open Category, called the Independence Cup. Ricky Deonarain will skipper defending champions Floodlights, while Ramo Malone will be his deputy. Lalta Gainda is the captain of Floodlights Legends and Lakhram Singh the vice-captain.
Floodlights squad reads: Ricky Deonarain (captain), Ramo Malone (vice-captain), Uniss Yusuf, Jagdesh Persaud, Lloyd Rooplall, Wayne Jones, Clive Canterbury, Pooran Singh, Sydney Jackman Jnr, Asif Ahmad, Ravi Lutchman, Joe Lutchman, Kash Lutchman, Goordial Mattai and Vejai Seonarine.

 

Floodlights Legends squad reads: Lalta Gainda (captain), Lakhram Singh (vice-captain), Jailall Deodass, Dharam Persaud, Surendra Nauth, Rahaman Khan, Ago Gopaul, Rajendra Persaud, Anil Beharry, Imtiaz Mohamed, Motielall Chumundat, Arjune Badal, Mohan Sukhu, Teekchand Madhu, Uniss Baksh and Roshan Kamrudeen.
