Man placed on $1M bail for causing death of DJ Bashment

A man who caused the death of Wavel Sabsook known as DJ Bashment was this morning placed on $1M bail. He was also fined $10,000 for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.

 

The man, who is a friend of Sabsook was the driver of the motor vehicle bearing license plate PVV 2009 which toppled and exploded, killing 31-year-old Bashment of Lot 196 Somatta Point, Grove, EBD on July 24, 2016, at Diamond, East Bank Demerara.

 

According to reports, the 31-year-old and his friend were proceeding to Grove at about 03:00h on Sunday when the vehicle in which they were travelling toppled several times before bursting into flames near the Distribution Services Limited (DSL) outlet at Diamond. Sabsook was flung from the vehicle and died on the spot.
