Man shot dead, woman hospitalised

A father of one, Colin Perriera was last evening shot and killed by a businessman after he attempted to turn his car on the man’s bridge at Perry Street, Tucville, Georgetown while his friend, Gail Ann Chacon was seriously injured.

 

The 23-year-old gold miner of Barr Street Kitty was shot to his chest and abdomen while it is unclear where the 20-year-old woman was hit. The incident occurred at around 21:00 hours.

 

According to information reaching the News Room, Perreira was at the time attempting to reverse the car on the businessman’s bridge when the man who was in his yard at the time, opened fire on the vehicle hitting the 23-year-old and the female. According to police reports, the car was heavily tinted.

 

The businessman who is a licensed firearm holder told police that he became scared upon seeing the car and opened fire on the vehicle.

 

At the time of the shooting, Colin was about to drop Gailann off at her relatives’ home located some houses away through the same street.

 

The businessman has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
