After several postponements due to the prolonged rainy season in Berbice, the second semi-final of the 2015 New Building Society (NBS) sponsored 40-over Second Division cricket competition for teams in Berbice will be played on Sunday at the Cumberland ground in the East Canje area.

The tournament is being coordinated by the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB).

The match will be contested by host team Tucber Park of New Amsterdam and Courtland of Lower Corentyne with the winner to clash with the mighty Rose Hall Town team in the final on a date and venue to be announced shortly.

Both teams possess great all-round strength, making it difficult to pick a winner. The host will be lead by former Berbice Under-19 opener and current Level Three coach Julian Moore.

The hard-hitting Keon DeJesus and Steve Deonarine will also turn out for Tucber Park.

Courtland will be lead by the energetic John Percival and will be supported by several all-rounders such as Keon Sinclair, former Berbice senior player Eon Gibson, Troy Mathieson and Leroy Bristol.

A keen contested match is in the making.
