Four inmates of New Amsterdam Prison attempt daring break out

Four inmates of the New Amsterdam Prison on Tuesday September 27, 2016 attempted to break out of the facility.

 

Three of the inmates are said to be accused of committing murder, among them was 17 -year -old Jairam Chetram, who was charged for murder in the Black Bush Polder Triple Murder case.

 

The other Inmates have been identified as Ramnarine Budhoo, Permaul(only name given) and Abraham (only name provided).

 

According to information reaching News Room, on Tuesday at approximately 22:00 hrs a prison guard noticed Chetram walking on the roof of the prison and subsequently raised an alarm after which searches were carried out and it was discovered that the other three inmates were also attempting the daring act.

 

The men were moved to another cell.

 

Meanwhile, it is also understood that this is not Chetram’s first attempt at breaking out the prison.

 

Previously he had attempted to escape along with two others.
