Three to be charged for cultivating cannabis; plants destroyed
During a twelve- hour exercise on Thursday, in excess of nine acres of cultivated cannabis were destroyed along with several nurseries, by ranks of the Guyana Police Force at Araray Village, Upper Essequibo.
The GPF said the field along with about eight thousand plants ranging in heights from one foot to ten feet, several nurseries with over three thousand seedlings and two make-shift tents were found and destroyed.
Three males who were found tending to the cultivation, the force said, are in custody.
The trio is expected to be charged with cultivating prohibited plants today (Friday, September 30, 2016).
