Former West Indies batsman Travis Dowlin rolled back the years on Saturday night, but his half-century could not inspire victory for Floodlights against Berbice Masters.

Playing at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ground in Queenstown, Berbice Masters emerged with a 32-run win in the feature T20 hardball game played under lights.

Chasing 173 for victory, Floodlights were restricted to 140-8 when the 20 overs finished with the right-handed Dowlin leading the way with a superb 67. Patrick Khan and Ricky Deonarain supported with 26 and 20 respectively.

Bowling for Floodlights, Romeo Deonarain, Surendra Nauth, Reyaz Hussain and Anil Beharry all took a wicket each. Latcha and Dowlin were named ‘Best Player’ for their respective team  and they both received a trophy.

For the win, Berbice Masters also collected a trophy. All trophies were sponsored by Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall of Bourda Market, City Mall and South Road.

Floodlights will next play Bush Lot of West Coast Berbice in another T20 hardball match at the DCC ground this Friday evening, starting at 18:30h.
