Jammi Jerk Strengthens its support to Youths through the O-Zone Foundation

Jammi Jerk, a Jamaican brand restaurant, has strengthened its support to O-Zone Foundation, as the organisation continues to roll out its social reintegration curriculum at the Sophia Juvenile Detention Centre.

 

Leshaun Morgan, Manager of the restaurant, recently conducted a mentorship session with the female inmates at the Centre.

 

Her message focused on “Nothing is permanent in this world, not even our troubles” which falls under the “Effective Thinking” module. “Effective Thinking”, one of thirteen modules, is designed to empower youths to make positive choices, to overcome the hurdles as a result of negative choices and to equip them with the skills of how to live purposefully and as law abiding citizens.

 

According to coordinators, the youths were very responsive to the session and were presented with motivational tee shirts compliments of the restaurant. O-Zone Foundation continues to yield positive results since its presence at the institution.

 

Jammi Jerk is currently in talks with the Foundation to provide a weekly tutor for Math and English for the inmates who are unable to attend school while at the centre.
