8-year-old hospitalised after being hit by stray bullet

Police in ‘B’ Division are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident during which an 8-year-old girl was hit in the leg by a stray bullet at about 16:30 hours this afternoon (Friday, October 28,2016)

 

News Room was told that the girl who resides with her parents in the Vicinity of the New Amsterdam Technical Institute was making her way down a flight of stairs when she was hit. She was rushed to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where the bullet was removed from her leg.

 

Acting commander of ‘B’ Division, Kevin Adonis told the News Room that investigators are presently trying to determine the direction from where the bullet came.

 

However, he confirmed that the child is presently in the hospital and her condition is listed as stable.
