Special Prosecution Team to further investigate “Pradoville Two” & Guyana Cricket World Cup Inc.

A special prosecution team will be set up to further investigate and ensure criminal charges are instituted regarding the Sparendaam Housing Project, known as “Pradoville Two” and the operations of the Guyana Cricket World Cup Incorporated.

 

During a post cabinet media briefing today, State Minister Joseph Harmon informed that the Finance Minister has submitted two forensic audit reports dealing with “Pradoville Two” and the operations of the Guyana Cricket World Cup Incorporated.

 

Harmon said reports show, in both instances indications of criminal culpability that require further investigations.

 

Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Basil Williams is expected to submit a report to cabinet stating the composition of the Special Prosecution Team.

 

Minister Harmon noted that the reports would be handed over to the Guyana Police Force for criminal investigations to begin.

 

 

He hinted that the team would comprise local and international personnel.

 

The State Assets Recovery Unit (SARU) had recommended that charges be laid against former President, Bharrat Jagdeo, and several former ministers over the sale of the lands at very low rates.
