A Diamond resident this morning allegedly shot and killed a home intruder, while another was arrested by the police.
The incident took place around 02:30 hrs as the two, along with one other attempted to rob the man and his family.
The News Room was informed that the man was asleep when he heard a strange sound coming from one of his doors and upon investigating he saw the men attempting to open his door.
The man also saw an object which appeared to be a firearm in the hand of one of the men, prompting him to open fire.
The alleged bandit was killed on the spot, while the police who responded promptly managed to capture the second one, however the third fled.
