Vishaul Singh’s XI were solid in their reply to Christopher Barnwell’s XI at stumps on day two on Tuesday in the Guyana Jaguars four-day practice game at the Everest Cricket Club ground, Camp Road.

Replying to Barnwell’s XI first innings score of 325 all out, Singh’s XI closed the day on 181-3, which represents a recover after they were reduced to 54-3.

The left-handed pair of Raymon Reifer and Shivnarine Chanderpaul have so far added an unbroken 127 for the fourth wicket, which has moved Singh’s XI from a spot of danger to one of comfort by stumps.

Reifer, the Barbados all-rounder, is unbeaten on 68, an innings that has included five fours and three sixes, while Chanderpaul, quite content on playing the supporting role, reached 49 by the close.

Keemo Paul, Keon Joseph and Eon Hooper are the wicket-takers. Earlier, Barnwell’s XI, resuming on 273-7, added 52 runs to their overnight total. Barnwell, who resumed on 40, added just seven more runs, while Seon Hetmyer converted his overnight 12 to 30.
