WI squad for Blind World T20 finalised; three Guyanese included

The West Indies Cricket Council for the Blind and Visually Impaired (WICCBVI) has finalised it 16-member squad to represent the region in the second Blind T20 World Cup in India in January 2017.

Three Guyanese have been included in the squad, which was selected following the hosting of the WICCBVI regional tournament earlier this year. The World Cup will start on January 30 in Delhi and conclude with the grand final in Bengaluru on February 12.

The squad includes three categories of cricketers- B1 (no vision), B2 (limited vision but require assistance) and B3 (enough vision to move around independently). The Guyanese selected to make the trip are Ganesh Singh (B1), Leroy Phillips (B1) and Kevin Douglas (B3).

The B1 players in the squad are Anthony Cummins (Barbados), Jason Ricketts and Marlon Cole (Jamaica), and Ganesh Singh and Leroy Phillips (Guyana).

The B2 players are Ricardo Manning, Mark Goddard, Kci Ward Ryan and Gregory Stewart (Barbados), Caneel Graham and Alvin James (Jamaica).

The B3 payers are Haldene Forde (Barbados), Dennol Shim, Lo-Shane Myles and Mark Sweeney (Jamaica) and Kevin Douglas (Guyana).

The management team comprises Stevenson Evelyn (Manager), Glendon Coke (Coach) and Carrison Henry (Physio).
