Later in the week the Guyana Water Inc (GWI) is expected to launch an app which will enable customers to send pictures of leaks, so that engineers would be able to locate same and prevent or limit contamination.

This was recently disclosed during a press conference by Executive director of operations Dwayne Shako.

According to Shako, the app utilizes Google Alert allowing GWI to track all the leaks and once the leak is remedied it will allow the staff to see how long it takes.

The Water Company will also be using the app to collect meter readings, cognizant that many people are securing their premises due to the spate of robberies.

Customers will have the option of downloading the app to their android cellular phones or using it directly from GWI’s website at www.gwiguyana.com.
