Entertainer Jackie Jaxx partners with EPIC Guyana to host empowerment workshop at Detention Centre
Entertainer and recording artiste Jackie Jaxx teamed up with EPIC Guyana on Friday to host an empowerment workshop for the detainees at the Sophia Juvenile Detention Facility.
This was her first visit to the facility, and based on the response to her motivational talk, which turned into an impromptu mini performance, Jackie Jaxx promised the juveniles to return with other performers.
Her talk centered on the obstacles she had to overcome in her quest to build her brand internationally, and included personal stories of deliverance, and timely interventions that have reaffirmed her faith.
She urged the youngsters to believe in their ability to be successful at any endeavor, and encouraged them to pursue an education as a tool for self -empowerment.
Additionally, at a simple event held at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, EPIC Guyana donated 21 pairs of basketball sneakers to Youth Basketball Guyana. This initiative was made possible by Mr. Autrey Johnson.
