Digicel focuses on Special Needs Children in “Get Gifted” Christmas promotion

Telecommunications Giant, Digicel Guyana on Thursday afternoon launched its Christmas promotion titled “Get Gifted”. The event was launched at the Giftland Mall on the lower East Coast Demerara.

Digicel has announced that it would be paying special emphasises on Special Needs Children across the country. At the launching of the Christmas promotion “Get Gifted”, Special Needs School Gifted Hands, headed by Marcia Smith was present.

While the company is looking to reduce prices of mobile handsets during this Christmas season and continuing their normal features of offering other additional services when handsets are purchased and top-ups are done, the company is also looking at what it can do for the communities.

For the last five years, the company has been treating Children under the “Digicel Christmas Cheers” umbrella where those in special circumstances have been catered for.

Head of Marketing Jacqueline James who led the Digicel team on Thursday told the gathering that there will be as much as 50% discount on some handsets while other handsets including the very popular and sought after Samsung S7 and S7 Edge would also see their prices being slashed.

The slashed prices on phones would take effect from Friday, November 25th at all stores across the country and will cater for more than twenty different kinds of handsets which is retailed by the company.

They include the Samsung J10, Digicel DL1 Plus and D1 LITE, Alcatel, Huawei and Azumi brands. This Christmas, as with every smart-phone purchased, subscribers will receive a Value Bundle of a one week 4G Data Plan with over 900MBs, inclusive of 30 minutes Talk and 30 Text Messages to any local number absolutely FREE. Customers will also be able to rollover their unused data, talk and text once they renew their Value Bundle Plan. The company also promises better connectivity this season and moving forward.

On Thursday the company also presented all the children from the Gifted Hands Special Needs School with gifts, from Mr. and Mrs. Clause who were present with a helper. Similar exercises are expected to take place both locally and regionally by the phone giant.
