Only 90 minutes of play, in which time 19 overs were bowled, were possible on day two of the day/night, pink ball game between Guyana Jaguars and Barbados Pride in the fourth round match of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Professional Cricket League Digicel Four-day competition.

Pride, responding to the Jaguars’ first day total of 311, closed on 48-2 when play was called off at 21:20h. Action on day three will start at 14:30h instead of the usual 15:00h.

Rain was a constant torment on day two, but the Jaguars did manage to make some inroads into Pride’s batting, removing both openers.

Skipper and Test batsman Kraigg Brathwaite (6) was caught by wicketkeeper Anthony Bramble off the bowling of Keon Joseph attempting a pull shot, while Anthony Alleyne (8), the competition’s leading runscorer, was caught by Rajendra Chandrika, diving at point, off the bowling of Raymon Reifer.

In the little play that was possible after then, Shai Hope and Shamarh Brooks ensured the Pride didn’t lose another wicket, finishing on 20 and 10 not out respectively.
