Prison officer turns self in after killing wife

The suspect who brutally killed his wife earlier today (Wednesday, December 28, 2016) has since turned himself in to police at the Central Police Station in New Amsterdam with an attorney.

According to a police source, the man who has been identified as Sheldon Prince, a prison officer from Angoy’s Avenue New Amsterdam, was accompanied by Attorney-at-Law, Mursallin Bacchus when he turned himself in. News Room was told that so far he has not disclosed to police what caused him to commit the act. However, he is in custody assisting with investigations.

At 8:00 hours on Wednesday, December 2, 2016, Sheldon Prince armed with a knife barged into the compound of the New Amsterdam Psychiatric Hospital where his wife, 29-year-old Yonnette Prince works as a hairdresser and dealt her several stabs about her body killing her instantly.

News Room understands that the man is a usual visitor at the facility where his wife works and as such security allowed him in the compound to visit the woman. After stabbing his wife, the man escaped.
