The police in Essequibo were today (Monday, January 30, 2017) called to investigate the remains of a human which was found sprawled along a river bank in Region 2.

From all indications, the skeleton is suspected to be that of Robertson Abram, a man between the ages of 72 and 74 who went missing back in December 2016.

The skeletal remains were found at Ikuraka on the left bank of the Ituribisi River. The police did receive intelligence that Robertson prior to his death lived alone in a camp in the bushes.

The man who was battling hypertension and stomach pains was last seen on December 19.

He was reportedly receiving medical attention at the Mashabo Health Centre for his condition.

The police are contending that the remains of the man if indeed it is Robertson Abram, would be hard to confirm given the state of decomposition.

DNA samples are expected to be taken from the remains to be sent overseas for testing.
