The Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) on Tuesday evening held its Annual General Meeting and election of office bearers, with former Guyana and West Indies all-rounder Roger Harper being elected unopposed as president.

The venue was the Muslim Youth Organisation on Woolford Avenue, where 37 delegates were present. The presiding officer was Ronald Williams.

News Room Sport understands that Gandhi Youth Organisation was the only city club that was not allowed to vote since its financial contribution for the past three years was not paid to the GCA.

Harper will have Neil Barry and Azad Ibrahim as his first and second vice-presidents respectively, while the rest of the executive are Deborah McNichol (Secretary), Paul Castello (Assistant Secretary), Denis Wilson (Treasurer), Imran Alli (Assistant Treasurer), Graham Alli (Marketing Manager), Colin Alfred (Public Relations Officer) and Shawn Massiah (Chairman of the Competitions Committee).

Following the conclusion of the voting process, Harper reassured his commitment towards the development of cricket at all levels in the city.
