Police in Berbice are making headway in solving two robberies in which bandits shot and killed their victims between Tuesday and Wednesday on the Corentyne.

Following the shooting death of phone card vendor 35 year old, Danian Jagdeo who was shot and killed by two armed bandits at Adventure on the Corentyne, the police have managed to arrest several persons who were caught in a motor car similar to that of which was used to picked up two men who moments before executed a robbery and abandoning their motorcycle several villages away.

Jagdeo was shot and killed by a lone gunman during a robbery at Adventure on the Corentyne Coast yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, February 07, 2017). In the process, a number of telephone cards and cash were taken from the victim who was making his weekly drop-off at a shop at Adventure.

According to a reliable source, the police also conducted a search on the motor car and recovered a firearm which they believe was used to killed Jagdeo. The motor car was impounded.

Commander of B Division Ian Amsterdam, when contacted disclosed that they are in possession of enough information to assist investigations to solve both crimes.

Investigations are continuing.
