AFC extends condolence on death of EBE resident; confirms councilor detained

The Alliance For Change (AFC) confirms this morning (Wednesday, February 15, 2017) that one of the party’s councilor and a relative have been detained in relation to the death of “Sheriff” in Essequibo and it is deeply saddened by the report.

It extends deepest sympathies to the family, relatives and friends of the deceased.

However, the political party says it offers its support to the family and relatives of the victim and those of the accused during this difficult time.

The News Room reported on Tuesday evening (February 14, 2017) that the man has reportedly tied up and beaten by the woman and her relatives who he grew up with at Ruby, East Bank Essequibo. The man was pronounced dead on arrival at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.

The party said it is distressed by the reported manner of the loss of “a precious Guyanese life” and looks forward to an impartial, fair and thorough investigation and justice being served in this matter.
