Alleged mastermind behind murder of Tain woman remanded

A businesswoman from the East Bank of Berbice who is the alleged mastermind behind the murder of a Tain Corentyne Domestic Worker has been remanded.

The 43-year-old woman, Indira Outar of Edingburg Village was not required to plead to the charge when it was read to her by magistrate Charlyn Artiga on Tuesday (February 28, 2017).

It is alleged that Outar hired a barber, 44-year-old Oliver Permaul whom she shared a relationship with, to kill the woman who allegedly shared a relationship with her (Outar) husband.

On Wednesday, February 15, 2017, Permaul along with his wife and three others, two of whom he hired to help in commit the act, were remanded to prison.

The domestic Worker, Lilawattie Mohamed was murdered at her home execution style on Tuesday (February 07, 2017) in what was a poor attempt to frame a robbery.

Following the killing, the police arrested a barber who was accused of threatening the domestic worker and her children on numerous occasions. However during questioning he admitted that the businesswoman hired him to kill Mohamed and he in term hired two others to aid the crime.

Outar will make her next court appearance on March 14 while the other five suspects will return to court on May 04.
