Morgan, bowlers hand England series lead

England took a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series with West Indies, following a 45-run win in Antigua on Friday. Chasing 297, West Indies recovered from 39-3 to 190-4 before collapsing again, being dismissed for 251 in the 48th over. 

Jason Mohammed topscored with 72 off 91 balls, while Jonathon Carter made 52 off 47 balls and Shai Hope 31. Chris Woakes ended with 4-47, while Liam Plunkett had 4-40, bowling for England. 

Earlier, Eion Morgan (107) struck his 10th ODI hundred to lead England to 296-6. Morgan’s hundred was his fifth as captain- an England record.

Sam Billings (52) and Ben Stokes (55) chipped in with fifties, while Moeen Ali made a breezy 31 not out. Ashley Nurse and Shannon Gabriel picked up two wickets each for West Indies. The second match is set for Sunday in Antigua.
