The community of Black Bush Polder on the Corentyne was plunged into a state of mourning after word got around that a teenager was killed by his elder brother yesterday (Sunday, March 19, 2017).
Dead is 18-year old Vishaul Zakaroo also called ‘Daniel’, a mechanic of 85 North Yakusari, Black Bush Polder, Corentyne, Berbice.
News Room understands that at about 23:00 hours on Sunday, the teen was attacked by his 22-year-old brother.
According to information received, the victim was imbibing with some friends, when he was approached by the suspect who requested to borrow his motorcycle, to which the victim refused.
News Room was told that an argument ensued and the suspect pulled out a knife he had in his possession and stabbed his brother once to his stomach.
The teen was picked up and rushed to the Mibicuri Public Hospital where he was treated and later succumbed.
His brother was taken into the custody of the police.
The alleged murder weapon was also recovered by investigators.
Investigations are ongoing.
