Guyanese national gunned down in Trinidad

(Trinidad and Tobago News) A 22-year-old Guyanese national was shot dead on Thursday night (April 06, 2017) in Laventille, Trinidad and Tobago.

According to police reports, at about 9:00 pm on Thursday night, Raphael Collins was at the home of a female companion along Williams Street, Laventille.

The young man was said to have been seated in the gallery, while the young woman was braiding his hair.

An unknown assailant entered the yard and, without warning, pulled out a firearm and shot at the 22-year-old multiple times.

The assailant then fled the scene on foot.

Collins died at the scene.

The young woman was not injured.

Police have no motive for the killing.

In a separate incident, police are investigating a St Augustine incident in which a man was shot and killed on Thursday night.
