Half-centuries from Shai Hope and Jason Mohammed were the highlights of West Indies’ 233-9 against Pakistan in the third ODI at Providence on Tuesday. On a pitch still favouring the batsmen, Pakistan bowlers bowled well, and it took a fighting partnership of 101 in 21.5 overs between Hope and Mohammed to inject some life into the West Indies innings.

Coming together at 68-3 in the 19th over, the pair proceeded to rebuild the innings with the in-form Mohammed leading the revival with a cracking 59 off 64 balls (5x4s, 2x6s), his second fifty of the series and fourth of his eight-match ODI career. Hope, who was more cautious, compiled 71 off 112 balls (1×4, 2x6s). Kieran Powell was the only other batsman to cross 20, hitting 23. Mohammad Amir, Junaid Khan and Shadab Khan all had two wickets. Pakistan need 234 to win the three-match series.
