The new administration of the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GBBFF) held a highly successful Novices Bodybuilding Championship on Saturday evening when Nolan Smith emerged as the top muscle man at the Theatre Guild. In front of a sold out crowd, Smith of Life’s Gym posed his way to the overall title on the night.
However, before winning the overall title, Smith showcased his ripped abdominals, a slim waist, bulging pecs and wide shoulders to win both the Under-21 and middleweight categories.
Meanwhile, in the Men’s Physique category, Roscoe Blair out of Space Gym was the top choice in one of the toughest categories of the night. Kacey Bailey and Faroud Mohamed of Fitness 53 finished second and third respectively in the short class.
Blair then returned to win the overall spoils in the battle of the board shorts and aesthetics ahead of Fitness 53’s Lancelot Gordon, who won the first place trophy in the tall class.
Natasha Chung of Tej Mohal Gym won the Miss Bikini category ahead of four other women, using her beauty, well toned physique and style to captivate the judges. Crowd favorite Rashawna Alleyne placed second, while Oslyn McAlmont was third.
President of the federation, Coel Marks, was pleased with what he saw at the event and rated it fulfilling, especially moving onto much bigger events going forward.
The winners of the various categories are as follows: Under-21- Nolan Smith (Life’s Gym); Miss Bikini- Natasha Chung (Tej Mohal Gym); Bantamweight- Greyson Lambert (Perry’s Gym); Lightweight- Arlington Layne (Universal Barbell Gym); Welterweight- Odel Crum-Ewing (Total Fitness); Heavyweight- Oryan Joseph (Space Gym) and Men’s Physique- Roscoe Blair (Space Gym).
2015 Flex Night champion, Godfrey Stoby was the guest poser at the event.
