Businesswoman remanded for cocaine possession

Today (Monday, May 08, 2017) Magistrate Ann McLennon wasted no time in remanding a businesswoman to jail after she pleaded not guilty to a charge of being in possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Marsha Reece, a 36-year-old businesswoman of 98 Victory Valley, Wismar, Linden was busted on May 4, 2017, with more than 196 grams of cocaine.

The illegal substance was found in a black plastic bag along with 71,000 Guyana Dollars.

Acting on information on the day in question, the police conducted a raid in the Victory Valley area. The woman was seen running with a bulky black bag which she eventually dropped. The bag was retrieved and items found.
