“Mudda”, Mother arrested for gun, ammo and weed

A man who goes by the name of “Mudda” has landed himself in the custody of the police after he was found in possession of an unlicensed gun and ammunition. As a result of that discovery, the police went to the man’s house and carried out a search and there they also took into custody his mother who was at home at the time.

The police on patrol decided to search the man identified as Kerwin Amos called “Mudda” of 43 Norton Street Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, last night (Tuesday, May 16, 2017) after he was seen acting in a suspicious manner.

During the search, it was discovered that he was carrying a Taurus Pistol and matching rounds for which he has no license to carry. The man told the police that he got the gun through a barter arrangement where he provided a minibus driver with one pound of weed valued $40,000 and he was given the gun in return.

Amos who works as a welder; was taken to the Brickdam Police Station where he was processed and in his statement admitted to being in possession of the weapon with its serial number intact.

The police then moved to the home of the man where they carried out a search of the well secured premises. In his room, a search was conducted and the police found a quantity of cannabis which amounted to just about four grammes along with a .38 live round.

Amos’s mother, 50-year-old Gail Jo was at home at the time of the search and was also taken into custody.

Investigations are ongoing.
