Linden man arrested for slitting wife’s throat

The suspect in relation to Shemika London’s murder was arrested by ranks of the Guyana Police Force about 16:45hrs this afternoon (Friday, May 19, 2017) in the jungle of Moblissa, Soesdyke/Linden Highway.

During the ensuing process of effecting the arrest, the 35-year-old pork-knocker who violently attacked the ranks was shot once to his left leg.

He is currently being escorted to seek medical attention in a conscious and stable condition, police said.

The suspect slashed the neck of his 37-year-old reputed wife who resided at lot  1206 Central Amelia’s Ward, Mackenzie, Linden, following a misunderstanding.

Police information states that London who is a clothes vendor and mother of five, at about 10:30 hours, ran across to her neighbour for assistance, even as she was drenched in blood. She collapsed outside of the yard.

She was rushed to the Mackenzie Hospital by neighbours where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Subsequently, the 35-year-old man went into hiding.

The woman’s body which bore multiple stab wounds is presently at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting a post-mortem.

A blood-stained knife suspected to be the murder weapon was found at the scene.
