Businessman busted with toy guns, TSU Beret, bullet Proof Vest

The police in ‘C’ Division acting on intelligence, today (Tuesday, June 13, 2017) arrested a Sophia businessman who was found with several items which ranks suspect might have been used to commit robberies and other unlawful activities.

46-year-old Lennox Facey of 744 C Field Sophia, East Coast Demerara (E.C.D) had in his possession two toy guns, one TSU Beret, one green bullet proof vest, one full face mask, one wig and one pair of black gloves.

The items were found in a salt bag in a shop which the man operates in his village. The suspect told the police that he purchased the vest some months ago from a man on America Street. According to Lennox, he does not know the man.

As it relates to the Beret, he said his son found the Beret while walking in the Joint Service Scheme one year ago.

The man remains in custody of the police at the Sparendaam Police Station. Eight other persons were also arrested following the raid which was not confined to the businessman’s premise.
