Following a brief hiatus, GT Motorsports’ Endurance Rental Cup is set for a grand return on Friday (June 23) at the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club, Albert Street and Thomas Lands. Set to speed off at 19:00h (7pm), the fourth instalment of the Endurance Rental Cup has been tweaked a bit to ensure patrons are treated to an evening of exciting action.

The Endurance races, which cater for teams of three competing in the 500lb and 600lb classes, have been reduced to 45 minutes each, down 15 minutes from the one hour of racing during the previous three events. This means therefore, that each member has a maximum of 15 minutes on the track. The team with the most number of laps at the conclusion of 45 minutes will be declared champion.

The new additions to this month’s activity are 10-lap races, an all-girls race and a Hall of Fame race for elder drivers. Interested teams and individuals desirous of participating are asked to inbox GT Motorsports on Facebook or contact Stephen (669-1900) or Roger (601-8084) to register.

“You do not need to own a kart to participate; our Rental Karts are inclusive of participating in this competition,” GT Motorsports said in a Facebook post on Monday.

At the last Endurance Rental Cup in March, Team Nexus made a clean sweep of both the 500lb and 600lb classes. The 500lb drivers were Brian Tenpow, Gregory Mohamed and Carlos Rodrigues, while the 600lb drivers were Rodrigues, Steven Nobrega and Matthew Phang. Tenpow and Phang had the fastest lap times in their respective categories.

The Endurance Rental Cup is sponsored by Secure Innovations and Concepts, Auto Fashion, Monster Energy Drink and Karcher, and organised by GT Motorsports.
