A so far unidentified man was last night (Sunday, June 02, 2017) killed in an accident along the Soesdyke Linden Highway.
News Room was informed that Motor Car HC6634 owned and driven by 45-year-old Deon Bascom of Kuru Kururu was proceeding south along Swan public road Soesdyke Linden Highway at about 20:30 hours when the incident occurred.
The driver alleged that the pedestrian crossed the road from West to East into the path of his vehicle, causing the collision.
As a result of the collision, the pedestrian sustained injuries to his head and other parts of his body.
He was picked up in a conscious state and taken to Diamond hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver has been taken into custody. A breathalyser test was also done and found no alcohol in his system.
