One of the main witnesses in the Marcus Bisram murder trial was rushed to a city hospital in a critical condition after he was allegedly poisoned by a family member of Marcus Bisram – the accused mastermind behind the murder of Berbice carpenter Faiyaz Narinedat.
According to information reaching the News Room, the witness who saw the entire ordeal on the night the carpenter was killed, was threatened on numerous occasion by the relative of Bisram. However it is unclear whether or not the teenager was given any form of protection by the Guyana Police Force (GPF) as he was a State witness in the case.
Speaking with reporters this afternoon, the mother of the witness told reporters that her son left on Saturday last to venture into the backlands along with two friends, one of which is the relative of Bisram. The mother disclosed that after returning home, her son felt ill and collapsed in front of their home but managed to revived himself and returned to bed.
The News Room understands that the witness told his mother that while in the backlands he was given food to eat but prior to that his friend (Bisram relative) had threaten to poisoned him as he was the one who provided the police with information that implicated Bisram.
According to the mother “them bin threaten him before and even tell me that they will cripple me so like since he came out from the backdam this bai nah eat food and he ah vomit and thing since Saturday and last night now this boy tek down and start vomiting and vomiting green green, I ask what happen and he said he nah know what happen to he right now.”
The mother said her entire family was threatened on numerous occasions by relatives of Bisram.
“At 5 ah clock me ah lock up and deh in the house because dem ah threaten abi, they gon burn down abi, they gonna do abi all kinda thing so me nah go nowhere,” she stated.
Bisram is wanted by police in Guyana in connection with the death of a carpenter FaiyazNarinedat of #72 Village CorentyneBerbice. He was arrested in Queens, New York earlier this year.
State Minister Joseph Harmon said police are making efforts to have the murder accused extradited. Bisram is accused of masterminding the killing of carpenter FaiyazNarinedatt on Oct. 31, 2016. He allegedly got four co-conspirators to kill Narinedatt, who was beaten to death. (Royan Abrams)
