Police are investigating the murder of an 18 – year old sawmill operator of 1331 B Field Sophia which occurred at 38 Miles Mabura Trail, Upper Demerara River.
Devon Murray, a sawmill operator, was allegedly killed by a male suspect on Saturday after an argument erupted over the deceased’s girlfriend.
According to police reports, the male suspect was making sexual advances towards the deceased’s girlfriend at the location where the murder took place.
Police are currently making efforts to apprehend the male suspect. The body of the teenager, which bores a wound to the neck, is presently at the McKenzie Hospital Mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination.
Police say a cutlass is believed to have been used to commit the act.
