Ranks from the Guyana Police Force narcotics branch arrested three persons this morning following a raid which lasted to just after noon at two houses at Continental Park, East Bank Demerara.

A man, who was assisting the police during their search, was made to open a white motorcar which was parked on the bridge to the premises. Under the watchful eyes of ranks and himself, a thorough search was conducted on the vehicle but nothing of value was found.

When the News Room arrived at the location, ranks from the unit were already inside the premises conducting their search and after some time, one rank emerged with what appeared to be something concealed in a brown-like paper bag. It was placed in the back of an unmarked vehicle.

Shortly after that, another gentleman who appeared to be associated with the person of interest to the ranks, showed up and the search was subsequently concluded.

The ranks exited the premises and escorted two persons out of compound into unmarked vehicles. They then proceeded to another house in the area. The ranks had initially drove pass the house but suddenly made a U-Turn and went to the house which appeared to be under construction.

It is unclear if the ranks managed to secure anything of value. The News Room had earlier received information that the search was being carried out at the home of a former official of the People’s Progressive Party Civic but that information could not be confirmed.
