Woman found on roadway with marks of violence, dies shortly after

The police in ‘C’ Division are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman, who was found lying on the road at Ogle, East Coast Demerara on Wednesday evening.

She has been identified as 38-year-old Jamince Edwards, a mother of five, who resided at Lot 121 ‘C’ Field, Sophia. News Room understands that the woman was found with multiple marks of violence on her body. She was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where she subsequently died.

One relative who spoke with the News Room, indicated the woman along with others, were on their way to Buxton, East Coast Demerara on Wednesday night in preparation for a birthday party today.

It is unclear how the woman sustained her injuries. The detectives in ‘C’ Division are said to be working on all leads and leaving no stone unturned in investigating the death.

Reports reaching this news entity revealed that Edwards was once employed as a hair dresser and a security guard.
