Police fire warning shot at smuggler next to Lusignan prison
About 01:00hrs this morning, alert police and prison personnel manning the eastern towers of the Lusignan Prison, heard “crashing sounds” emanating from the bushes and shortly after observed a male with a hoodie.
Police in a statement noted that a “warning shot” was fired and the male fled into the thick vegetation.
The area was immediately combed but the male was not seen. Instead, ranks found a bag with 140 packets of cigarettes, four cellular phones, 11 lighters, a power pack, an earpiece, a phone charger, 15 packets of small-sized ziplock bags and 1,794 grams of cannabis.
