Sherwin Reynolds, a 44-year-old minibus driver, has been committed to stand trial at the High Court for allegedly raping a 21-year-old woman with a disability.

Magistrate Leron Daly on Thursday found that there is enough evidence for Reynolds, of Plaisance, East Coast Demerara, to face a judge and jury.

He will remain on $250,000 bail.

Reynolds was charged in September 2018 for the capital offence which alleged that on April 19, 2018, he engaged in sexual penetration with the woman without her consent at a location on the East Bank of Demerara, while she was a passenger in his minibus.

The court heard that Reynolds took the woman to a lonely area while she was the lone passenger and raped her.
