18-Y-O shot dead in Albouystown, 4 arrested

Police are investigating the murder of 18-year-old Christopher Mansfield who was shot and killed Sunday morning while he was on his way to play football.

A statement from police headquarters disclosed that Mansfield, a mason of Lot 66 Barr Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, left his home to go play football at Non Pariel Street Albouystown at about 06:00hrs.

At about 06:47 hrs, he was attacked by three identifiable males on bicycles at Cooper Street, Albouystown; they were armed with a cutlass, knife and a gun.

Police said Mansfield was shot to the right side abdomen.

The teen sought refuge in a nearby yard at 154 Non Pariel, Albouystown where he collapsed.

He was taken to Georgetown Public hospital by public spirited citizens and was pronounced dead on arrival.

Four persons have been arrested and assisting with the investigation, the police said.
