Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) Justice (Rt’d) Claudette Singh will Thursday make a decision on a date for general elections, Opposition-nominated Commissioner Sase Gunraj said Wednesday afternoon.
Gunraj said that during Wednesday’s meeting of the Commission, the Chairman indicated that she will communicate a decision to the Commissioners by 10:30hrs.
Justice Singh had previously told representatives of the opposition PPP and the government that she was interested in elections at the earliest possible time, possibly the end of the year.
