A Berbice vendor was stabbed to death on Christmas Eve after a game of chic chic descended into a fight.
Dead is Steven ‘Shabba’ Lewis, 27, of Portuguese Quarters, Corentyne, Berbice.
Police said the incident occurred at around 22:20 hrs at Rose Hall Town Public Road, Corentyne Berbice.
The 27-year-old cane cutter who committed the act is in Police custody.
Police said the two ended up in a fight during the game; Lewis received injuries to his head and mouth.
